Pulse for WhatsApp

Last updated: 27 May 2026 • Chrome Extension

Plain English Summary

Pulse has no backend. Everything runs entirely in your browser. No Pulse server ever receives your data.
When you scan a chat, the content goes directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or DeepSeek). Pulse never sees it.
Your API key is stored only on your device and sent only to your chosen AI provider. Never anywhere else.
No analytics, no tracking, no third-party scripts. Pulse does not phone home.
You can wipe all locally stored data at any time from Settings > Danger Zone > Wipe all data. This permanently deletes local scan results, settings, cached chat list data, and saved API keys from the extension storage. Uninstalling the extension removes locally stored extension data as well.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Pulse's use of information received from users will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

1. No Pulse servers

Pulse has no backend. There is no Pulse-operated server collecting, storing, or processing your data. The extension runs entirely in your browser.

2. What the extension handles locally

The extension stores the following in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local), accessible only to the extension on your device:

  • Your preferences (theme, AI provider choice, model, data retention)
  • The API key you provide for your chosen AI provider
  • Scan results the extension generates when you tap Scan on a chat

This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly initiate an action that requires it.

3. When you scan a chat

When you tap Scan on a WhatsApp chat:

  • The content of the conversation visible in your WhatsApp Web tab is sent over HTTPS directly from your browser to the AI provider you have selected (OpenAI, Anthropic, or DeepSeek).
  • The AI provider processes the content and returns structured results (tasks, follow-ups, decisions, suggested replies).
  • The results are stored locally in your browser.

The AI provider's handling of the data is governed by their own privacy policy: OpenAI (openai.com/policies/privacy-policy), Anthropic (anthropic.com/legal/privacy), DeepSeek (deepseek.com/privacy). No data is sent to Pulse during this process.

4. Your API key

Your API key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local. It is only ever sent in the Authorization header of HTTPS requests to the AI provider's domain you selected. It is never sent anywhere else.

5. No tracking, no analytics

Pulse does not include analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, telemetry, or any third-party scripts. The extension does not phone home.

6. No automatic actions

Pulse never acts on WhatsApp on your behalf. It does not send messages, mark chats as read, or modify your WhatsApp account in any way. All scans are initiated by you.

7. Data retention

You can configure how long Pulse keeps scan results locally (forever, 7, 30, 90, or 180 days) in Settings. You can also delete all stored data at any time from Settings > Danger Zone > Wipe all data.

8. Uninstallation

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally-stored data.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new Last updated date.
